Rev. John P. Joseph, Esq., CCA
John Joseph is an ordained minister, attorney and Certified Church Business Administrator and Fellow in Church Business Administration with the National Association of Church Business Administration. He also holds a Cambridge Certificate in Risk Management for Churches and Schools from Cambridge University, England. As the founder and principal attorney at Church Legal Center, John serves churches, ministries and charities throughout the state of Florida in areas such as church incorporation and dissolution, property and finance matters, employee relations and church governance.
Education and Experience
John completed his undergraduate studies at Stetson University in 1982 and earned his Juris Doctorate law degree from the University of Kentucky, College of Law in 1986. John has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1986 and is admitted to practice in every state court in the State of Florida.
John currently serves as a Hearing Master for the City of St. Petersburg and a Hearing Officer for Pinellas County, Florida. In addition, John teaches Church Law and Administration for ordination candidates and is an Adjunct Professor at Trinity Law School teaching nonprofit law. John is also an active speaker in Florida and is a contributing author for Enrichment Magazine, including a special two volume set on Church Management.
Honors and Awards
John was highly honored to be the inaugural recipient of the Golden Hammar Award, presented by Mr. Richard Hammar, J.D. CPA, “Honoring Those Who Have Exhibited A Mastery of Church Law and Administration.”
John is a member of The Florida Bar and the St. Petersburg Bar Association. He has received the distinctive honor to have been appointed for three consecutive terms as a member of the Florida Bar Public Service Pre-Paid Legal Services Committee. John was appointed twice by the President of the Florida Bar as Chairman of the Committee.
